Craving for “Plant-Based” Bak Kwa?

Bak Kwa is a dried savoury sweet meat that comes in thin slices that is popular in the Chinese communities located in Asia. Usually, Bak Kwa are made of pork which makes it non-halal for some people.

One special company in Indonesia has launched a special treat for all of us. They launched 100% Plant-Based Dendeng Manis Asap or knowns as Bak Kwa. Their Bak Kwa is more friendly for people who is concern about health issue, vegans, or vegetarians, and for Muslims who does not eat pork which makes up most of the Indonesian population.

The company is called Meatless Kingdom which is a local Indonesian which is based in Cimahi, West Java and it specialized on Plant-Based Meat. Our Bak Kwa is introduced to the world during SIAL InterFOOD 2022 event which is held in Jakarta on 9-12th November.

Before launching it offline, we exclusively launched our product on Blibli with a price of Rp 55.000 or around 5 USD, and it comes in 200 gram of box packaging with shelf life of 1 year.

According to our CEO Widya Putra, the CEO of Meatless Kingdom, “The product is ready-to-eat from the box and you can just heat it using the microwave or oven for 1-2 minutes. Apart from the convenience, the product is also good source of protein, high fibre and have authentic taste of Bak Kwa.

Besides high in nutrition, the product is also allium free, processed without deep frying, and it contains no added preservatives (MSG). @Widya Putra targets Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mainland China due to the food they usually eat.
